Right to Information Officer
The Right to Information (RTI) Act is a historic law enacted in India in 2005 to ensure transparency and accountability in the functioning of the government. Under this law, every Indian citizen has the right to access public information held by government institutions. Its primary objectives are to eradicate corruption, promote citizen participation in governance, and strengthen democracy. Although certain highly sensitive areas such as national security and defense are exempted, authorities are generally required to provide the requested information within 30 days of submitting the application. This law plays a major role in empowering citizens .
